I use my healthcare experience, education & coaching skills to specialize
in assisting those with healthcare changes, home downsizing, or in organizing
after the death of a loved one. I also
provide one-on-one life coaching, with emphasis in transition and grief.
Many years of working in healthcare, led me to becoming a Personal Assistant for some of the seniors I previously worked with. They were usually in transition after a health care crisis, or having lost their partners in life. That experience, along with educational studies, helped me realize the need for a tangible way for people to go through transitioning. I already had a background in direct health care, art, design, and journalism; so I wanted to mesh them by completing my Masters in Art Therapy until the economy put that on hold. In the meantime, I became certified as a Life Coach, because I realized those skills--along with my background in interior design--could achieve a similar outcome.
I use particulars that include, but are not limited to:
- Colour preferences from ALL people who will do the general interaction in the room(s)
- Colour therapy
- Communication style
- Feng shui
- Health/Illness/Disability details
- Life & grief coaching
- Learning styles
- Organizational tools
- Personality typing and details
- Space planning
Creating a design, colour palette, or making a space more functional for a transition provides balance. These transitions don't have to be difficult ones, such as in death or illness. They can include the start of a new business, moving in-or-out, transitioning from military life, having/adopting a baby...or simply needing a fresh outlook on a space you've already created.
I also help with home staging for sales or rentals.
I can do some basic carpentry, and can paint; but normally I recommend: Angie's List, Amazon, Home Adviser, or other group/business of your choice.
